This window installation was created as part of a creative initiative in which Brooklyn-based artists were selected to work with local businesses to upgrade their storefronts and window displays. The program engaged in questions such as: how can art and design draw people to a business? How can art and design help a neighborhood flourish? How can a neighborhood preserve the strengths and beauty of its culture while planning for the future? These and other questions surrounding art, business, preservation, and gentrification are not easy to answer anywhere, let alone in today’s Brooklyn.
